On October 16th Donald Trump attended a town hall organized by Univision. With just days left before the election, this appearance was one of the last opportunities for Trump to try to connect with Latino voters, a demographic that the GOP has been trying to court for several years. After two years of being surrounded by yes-men and sycophants Trump was forced to justify and defend his policies in front of people who may be most affected by them.
It was a disaster for his campaign.
The town hall was a display of Trump’s inability to emphasize or understand the struggles facing the average person. I’ve included some highlights below.
When a farmer asks who will pick produce if aggressive immigration policies are pursued, Trump went on a meandering rant where he conflates asylum seekers with patients from asylums.
When asked by a former Republican voter why he should for him after all his disastrous term and all his administration members have turned on him, Trump deflected and rambled about January 6th
The slow-pan across the crowd when Trump describes January 6th as “A day of love” should be seen as a sign of Trump’s appeal to the average undecided voter.
Beyond the town hall, I can’t help but feel like we are living in a particularly tense time in American politics. This will be the third time Donald Trump is on the presidential ballot. For many young voters, all they have known is politics with Trump - every election they have voted in “has been the most important election in history”. What’s important is that we dont lose focus or become fatigued with dealing with Trump. This video from Dave Bautista is an important reminder of everything evil and dysfunctional about Trump - and how his flaws are visible to everyone around him (remember him getting laughed out of the UN?).
To further motivate this team, I leave you with the hilarious video/ad from Dave Bautista exposing Trump.
Thank you for your service. I am so frightened at how easily Trump can lie. I can't stomach to watch the town hall. The sad thing is, his own aide said that he told her to just make things up when talking to the public, and no matter what "deny deny deny"! A playbook from Roy Cohen and Hitler

I wanted to say, even though it's not on topic exactly here, that while you and your brother chose to serve our nation's military in order to pay back the country that took your family in, I believe that speaking up and speaking out about 45's blackmailing call to Zelensky provided a perfect balance: Paying something back to the country your family came from. I am so in awe of your strength and leadership.
