We were truly fortunate to have someone like President Carter in this world. He is the embodiment of what we should all aspire to be.

What a stark, and very sad, contrast to the people we are now faced with, whose only interests are greed, cruelty and destruction.

It strikes me as particularly Ironic that with the likes of JD Vance and others on the far right clamoring now about America is or should be a "Christian nation," America once had the epitome of a truly devout, humble, empathetic, Christian President, Jimmy Carter, and the far right vilified him.

Maybe I should have said "crucified" him.

His commitment to human rights and the common good was relentlessly ridiculed as weak and stupid.

He was a great man who I met in college in 1975 as he began his run for the Presidency. I had lunch with a group of others from our political science/history club. When I came home that eve ing, I said to my parents think this person will really be president. He is probably the last president who was a real person and not some media creation. And yes, when I met him he shook my hand and said, “I am Jimmy Carter and I am running for President.” His was a life well lived and lived his religion and ethics. We need to measure ourselves by his example.

Jimmy Carter was a uniquely honorable man, as are you, Col. Vindman. Men of your ilk are becoming increasingly scarce in our public and governmental lives, thus I value your contributions all the more. Thank you for your service, sir, and may James Earl Carter rest peacefully for eternity with his beloved Rosalyn. <3

You are so right about his exemplifying the virtues of public service. The man humbly walked the walk, and revealed to the world what love is. I hope your exhortation to those contemplating political office to emulate President Carter, will be followed.

Thank you.

As a Canadian and an Ontarian I recognize the incredibly brave and selfless work President Carter did as a young man after the world’s first nuclear incident in Chalk River. I encourage everyone to look up the story the details are really fascinating.

I wish that we had more men and women like Jimmy Carter. Our government seems to be full of wealthy individuals who, while not being bad people, do not exemplify the selfless dedication to helping others like President Carter did.

“Donald John Trump, the twice-impeached, thrice-indicted 45th President of the United States, died on December 29, 2024, mere weeks before he was set to be sworn in for a catastrophic second term. His death, while tragic for those still entranced by his cult of personality, offers a much-needed reprieve for a nation and world terrorized by his existence. He was 78.” Read more…
